How can I speed up my VPN Unlimited connection?

How can I speed up my VPN  Unlimited connection?:

Encrypting your entire network through VPN Unlimited requires considerable processing power and bandwidth. This is why you may notice speeds that are lower than your normal ISP speeds. Although the connection may be a little slower you should be comforted in knowing it is also fully encrypted through a secure VPN connection. There are still several ways that you may be able to improve slow VPN Unlimited connection speeds on your router.

  1. Try out alternate server locations listed in your .ovpn files folder.
    • To change VPN Unlimited server locations you will need to change the server as well as the Client Certificate and Client Key associated with each server address.
  2. VPN Unlimited OpenVPN traffic can be sent via UDP Protocol over Port 1194, 443 or 22 or via TCP Protocol over Port 80. In some regions or use cases one OpenVPN protocol or port may be faster than the other. In heavily censored regions we recommend using the UDP protocol.
  3. Try using our alternate PPTP connection guide for VPN Unlimited. PPTP connections require less processing power than OpenVPN, which may allow for faster connection speeds. Although it is not as secure as OpenVPN you still get an anonymous IP address in the country of your choosing. Make sure you do not have an OpenVPN connection running at the same time as a PPTP connection.
