Why should I back up my router configuration?
Backup files are an excellent way to quickly restore your FlashRouter in the event of a reset or faulty configuration. We strongly recommend saving backups of any successful configuration of your FlashRouter. Having this also allows you to be more adventurous in trying different configurations on your FlashRouter as you will be able to restore to the previous configuration in a few simple clicks detailed below.
How do I backup my DD-WRT router configuration?
Go to the Administration > Backup page and click Backup to download the file called nvrambak.bin. We recommend renaming this file FlashRouter-Backup.bin for clarification purposes.
How do I load my DD-WRT backup configuration?
Go to the Administration > Backup page and click Choose File. Select the backup file and click Restore. Be patient as the backup file loads and when it is complete your connection should be restored to the same working settings from the time the backup file was saved.
How do I backup my Tomato router configuration?
Go to the Administration > Configuration and in the Backup Configuration field enter FlashRouter-Backup and then click Backup to download the file onto your computer.
How do I load my Tomato backup configuration?

Can FlashRouters provide me with a backup file of my router configuration?
If you provided us with your VPN provider login information upon placing your order, we have a backup file of your working settings saved that can be loaded to restore the configuration with a fully working VPN connection. If this is the case email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you received TeamViewer remote support, our Support Team ends each successful session by saving a backup file of the working configuration onto your computer. For DD-WRT it will be a .bin file type and for Tomato it will be a .cfg file type.
Backups files can't be opened with any program, they are only to be used for loading into the router settings from the specified area within the router firmware.
Can I transfer my backup configuration to a different router?
Backup files are only good for the exact router from which they were created, therefore backup files saved by you or by FlashRouters will only be on the one single router unit.
